Earn up to 1.8 CEUs while soaking up awesome instruction provided by the best and most experienced presenters in the Eclipse CAT software universe: Jeremy Thorne, the developer and lead programmer for over 30 years; Keith Vincent, realtime writer, long-time user, presenter, and creator of the Visualizer movies; Jennifer Thompson, firm owner, Vox user and instructor with over two decades of experience as a voice writer; Marybeth Everhart, National Marketing Director of Realtime Coach, instructor, and former reporter with over 40 years of experience in the reporting profession; Michael Starkman, presenter  and advanced level software instructor with over two decades of Eclipse experience; and more. We're spreading this conference across two evenings and a weekend to make it easier for busy reporting professionals to attend without having to miss work or leave their homes! View our seminars live, watch the recordings*, or both – you'll earn credit either way. Whether you're a steno or voice writer, a judicial reporter, a captioner, or a CART provider, scopist, freelancer or official, we've got content that will interest you, make your job easier, and show you how to save tons of time.

* This is a hybrid event. In accordance with strict NCRA guidelines, after the recordings are produced and made available, the viewing interval will extend for two weeks only. This alternate, post-event period makes it possible for those who were unable to attend some (or all) of live presentations to view them at a more conventient time. Those who wish to view presentations multiple times will also be able to do so.

Vox Track:
This year's focus will be on making the most of our dictionaries - types, globaling, the good, the bad and the ugly of entries; employing efficient editing best practices - creating your team; leveraging the power of number conversion; understanding audio recording set up, playback, foot pedal use, and identifying and correcting audio issues; working with multiple computers, setting up new computers, transfer of files; and most importantly, troubleshooting 101 for all those pesky problems we encounter. I'll be using v10, so consider installing the latest release candidate.

Eclipse Vox Master Class Part 1

Jeremy Thonre with Jennifer Thompson

This session runs concurrent with the session ABOVE in the same shaded color.

Jeremy Thorne is the programmer who created Eclipse. He started on it in 1989 and hasn't stopped since, adding dimensions and features that were completely missing—in fact, completely undreamt of—until he started writing code for court reporters. As Jeremy worked with the reporting professionals using his software, he learned more about their needs and generated new and creative solutions for them. His co-presenter will be Jennifer Thompson, who founded a school for voice reporters twenty years ago. She's been teaching students—and learning more herself—ever since. Along the way she mastered Eclipse and is one of the most proficient voice writers in our profession. So she has lots of helptful information to share that will help you use Eclipse more efficiently and become a better reporter.  (Longer description coming soon!)

Need to expedite things that aren't already part of Eclipse?

Michael Starkman

Shortcuts are powerful things. Who doesn't want to do the same job in less time? But sometimes there are tasks for which there isn't a built-in shorter way? Michael has the answer and it's called Macros! They're easy to create and enable you to automate almost anything you do in Eclipse that takes a lot of steps or involves a lot of keystrokes.  (Longer description coming soon!)

Let's Talk About Your Viewing Options

The rules & requirements for our VirtuCon series of online events haven't changed much since our original outing, but some folks are having trouble understanding them, so it's time for a brush-up on the basics. Our online Eclipse Virtual Conferences, we call them VirtuCons, are governed by NCRA as HYBRID LEARNING EVENTS, a category that was created because of the pandemic to enable more reporting professionals to attend conference events. Under their guidelines you can choose to view the LIVE events OR view the RECORDED versions, or both, and earn prepaid credits either way, but you can ONLY view them for a two-week time span. In order to earn credits for these seminars you need to view the events live, or within the allotted 14-day time frame, AND submit the proper codewords for each event you view to prove you really watched them. If you don't submit the code words for a seminar, you won't get credit. If you submit the wrong code words, you won't get credit. If you try to view the events after the allotted timeframe has expired, our system will prevent you from doing so. These are the NCRA's requirements, but they enable us to provide attendees with prepaid points, which can otherwise ONLY be earned when participating in events with no viewing or attendance flexibility, where everyone must be present at the same time. You can read the entire hybrid learning event agreement by clicking here, or just hit the major bullet points to the right.

  • Once you register for our event you're automatically registered to attend all the live AND recorded events.
  • You'll get email invitations (sent to the email address you used during registration) from GoToWebinar for each live event 1 day, as well as 1 hour, before the live event.
  • If you can't attend any of the live events, just ignore the invitations – no need to notify us.
  • Recordings of each event will be made no later than Wednesday, October 27th, 2021 - you'll get an email, too, explaining how to access them..
  • Once the recordings are released you will have a limited windows of two weeks to watch the ones you want AND submit codewords for each you want credits for.
  • You will get regular email updates from us regarding the viewing period expiration and more, so watch your email inboxes CLOSELY!

Frequently Asked Questions

No - we've already done that for you. Every registrant is automatically enrolled to attend both the live AND recorded versions of our events. You can pick and choose which you want to view, including both. If you can't make the live event, for any reason, simply ignore the emails and don't show up - no notice necessary. Just be sure you view the recordings inside the allotted viewing window AND submit the correct codewords to get your CEUs, if you need them.

CEUs and CEs are credited at the rate of .1 credits per hour of instruction by NCRA, and 1 credit per hour by NVRA, not including breaks. You are only credited time for actual instruction. To receive credit you must attend the live event or view the recording of any given event. You must also submit the CORRECT code word(s) for each event you view. Ample instructions on the code words will be given during each class in both the live and recorded versions. If you do not submit the correct code words you will not get credit for that event, even if you attended it. After the recording viewing period has closed, all of the viewings will be tallied and your results will be transmitted to either the NCRA or NVRA only. WE WILL NOT SUBMIT YOUR ATTENDANCE TO OUR EVENT TO YOUR STATE ASSOCIATIONS, ONLY THE NCRA OR NVRA. If you wish to submit your attendance to your local state associations you will need to complete and pay for that process yourself. In general our events generally qualify you for credit with your local associations without any trouble, but we CANNOT guarantee that. Before submitting your attendance to the NCRA or NVRA we will be sending an attendance report directly to your for review, at which point you will have a few days to review it and request changes, if any.

Yes. You will earn credits for each class you attend, no matter if you attend live or view the recording, however, you can only earn credit for each class once. For example, if you choose to attend the live event for class A, and you also decide to view the recording for the same class, you will only be credited for viewing that class ONCE, assuming that you submitted the code word correctly for that class at least once.

Absolutely, yes. At the end of the recording viewing window we will take a few days to tally everyone's attendances and then generate an attendance report that will serve as your Certificate of Completion. This certificate will contain your personal information as well as a copy of our class agenda, and then finally a breakdown of which classes we have you down as attending, as well as the CEUs/CEs you earned for each class and the event overall. This document will be uploaded to your account dashboard at EclipseUsers.com for safe-keeping, at which point an email will also be automatically generated and sent to you that will include a copy of this certificate attached as a PDF. This part is very important: You will have a 7-day window to review this certificate for errors and ask us for corrections before we submit the final copies to the NVRA and NCRA on your behalf. Once we have submitted the master report to these two accrediting organizations, there is no way to change them. These certificates will also be useful in submitting your attendance records to your local associations if you choose to do so.

Due to the fact that you can view the recorded versions of each class in the event you cannot attend the live versions, refunds will not be given after the day the first class is scheduled to begin, which is currently May 21st, 2021. If you request a refund before that date we will authorize it minus a $50 processing fee.

You will be able to view ALL of the recordings starting Wednesday, October 27th, 2021. You will be notified by email when the recordings are ready to view, along with instructions on how and where to view them, and how the code word submission process will work. Remember - you can only view the recordings for two weeks after they are released. After that time access to the recordings AND the ability to submit codewords for obtaining credits will be revoked for everyone - no exceptions, per NCRA rules.
